KAP Foil Kite 5.0 + 69-ft. Fringe Tail

by HQ Kites and Designs High-Quality Well-Made Kites

Talk Around Town

Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) uses a kite to lift a camera, capturing unique aerial shots. The camera can be triggered remotely or automatically and is secured to an adjustable rig that hangs from the kite line. This perspective allows photographers to creatively capture landscapes, objects, architecture, and people.

Originating in the late 19th century, KAP is one of the oldest forms of remote sensing. The KAP Foils, designed by German kite enthusiast Ralf Beutnagel, are stable lifting kites made for camera rigs and have been popular among photographers since their 2006 introduction.

Features and Details

KAP Foils are designed to perform exceptionally well across a wide range of wind conditions, including light ground winds. For example, the KAP Foil 8.0 is capable of carrying heavier cameras and line laundry even in lighter winds. In stronger winds, all KAP Foils maintain a stable flight without slipping sideways. Additionally, KAP Foils generate significant pull; therefore, they are for experienced pilots only. It's essential to strictly follow the specified age and wind restrictions.
